My dad is a British born Jamaican but doesn’t have a Jamaican passport or citizenship there. I was wondering if I’m able to apply using my Grandmas birth certificate? She passed away back in 2020, would I still be able to apply just using her birth certificate?

I am jamaican and the difference between the Caribbean is that we have a Caribbean community and not a union because all unions can be broken but no one wants to destroy there community because thats were we have to live work and do business.

The lineage doesn't reflect if your parent of grandparents were born in JA. Just as long as they are a citizen, that is good enough. So the generations after you must keep registering as a ja citizen so the generations after you can maintain being Jamaican.

Interesting video covering the food, culture, music among other things of Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica. Despite the Indo population is slightly larger that the Afro Trinidadian population, there is many contribution by Afro Trinibagonians - cou cou, calaloo, pound plantain (Tom Tom), bene ball etc. I would have like to see mention made of the Orisah religion and Spiritual baptist(african influence) The spirtual baptists religion is similar to Revivalism in Jamaica. Also the Tobago Heritage Festival. Overall, great video.

Can you explain about those who countersign the application as the list on the Jamaican form is so limited. For example on the British passport application the countersign list is very long but the Jamaican one is short

most jamaicans are from west africa nigeria and Ghana 🇳🇬✊🏿🇬🇭 with some central africans i was one time looking at the Angolan 🇦🇴slavery museums on UA-cam and it had a list of places were slaves were taken to and jamaica 🇯🇲 was one of them and it said 15.1% of slaves went to jamaica aswell so we are one people 🇳🇬🇬🇭🇯🇲🇦🇴
